Almost in the 230s
Posted on 03. Feb, 2010 by Jay in Challenge +
I’ve been busy with work the past couple days, sorry I couldn’t blog more. I find the older I get the more responsibilities I have to deal with and I’m getting tired of that.
Anyhow, my weight loss is still going strong. Right now I’m at 240, a surprising number since I haven’t gone to the gym in a couple days other then my home gym. I worked out in my gym for a couple hours yesterday but I’m limited in what I can do because of my weights need to be updated. I did about 15 minutes worth of cardio though, which may have done it for me.
I love the fact that cardio is actually something I look forward to now and I can easily do. Before it used to be a complete pain, and I dreaded it; now it’s fun!
So I’m at 240 pounds right now, down 28 pounds since I started the Weight Loss Challenge, I’m pretty happy with that. I have noticed my weight loss has slowed this month compared to the first month where I lost around 18 pounds pretty easy. I predicted I would lose around 15 pounds this month, I’m at 10 pounds so far this month which isn’t that far off. I have a few more days to lose 5 pounds.. I could do it if I wanted to; we’ll see what happens.
Time for the blogging rounds.
Current Weight: 240!

Congrats on the loss, Jay! Totally understand the sentiment about work and responsibility. The past couple of weeks at my office really threw off my schedule for exercise. Tonight I did a strength/cardio combo for the first time on worknight in quite a while. Was painful – but hopefully I’ve gotten back on the wagon now.
Love the cartoon, by the way!

Hehe, I need to find more cartoons like that.
Yeah, I think I’m going to start getting rid of some responsibilities. I need to focus more on me and stop being a people pleaser.

It can be extremely difficult when work and other commitments get in the way. I found that a bit last year and it threw me off course for a few months.

Right, but something is different for me. Since I mentally put health in front of everything else I have been steady with eating right and exercising. That’s how I am right now, health is first, then business then.. I forget what else.
But health is number one!

Work is one thing. I keep thinking kids would be another. If I was a parent what I am doing would be near impossible. But so many things are more attractive than busting a$$ on some machine. So rewarding when we can slip it in, though. I really enjoyed doing sets between rounds of Halo last night.

Hehe, I’m a MW2 person myself.
No kids yet I’m happy to say. I think I would probably gain weight watching over kids.
Not yet.

Good progress. Just remember that while strength training is important it does not make nowhere near the dent in your net calories as you’d think. Concentrate on the diet and the pounds will keep on falling.

I don’t doubt that, that’s why I don’t adjust my calories when working out. I use the gym to speed along the process and build muscle.
I made 239.5 today though.
