7-days of the Gym

Posted on 29. Jan, 2010 by in Gym

So today will be the 7th straight day of going to the gym, and other then felling pretty tired (I just got back from the gym) I’m happy I did it.

I know 7-days isn’t a big deal, but you know it was fun to do and it was something new. I usually only go to the gym 3-5 days a week, and almost never 7 days in a row.. actually I think this is the first time I have ever gone 7-days in a row and it was pretty hard (I still have one more day to go).

Pros:

  1. I gained muscle! My arms feel a lot bigger which is awesome!
  2. I lost weight like a mad man until I upped my calories.
  3. Yep, I think that’s all the pros.. I gained a little more muscle and lost weight faster.

Cons:

  1. I think I’m going to sleep 15 hours after this post, whenever I workout hard I feel the need to sleep a good amount.
  2. It got a little boring. I don’t think I could do this for a month straight… wait a second.. do I hear a challenge coming on?

So yeah, today is the 7th day and as of right now it’s 2AM in the morning. I just got back from the 6th day of the gym and I’m about to go to sleep. I’ll wake up in 12 hours or so and head out to the 7th day of the gym. And when I say gym, I’m there for at least an hour and half doing a mix of strength training and cardio pretty hard. I don’t like wasting time in the gym.

I’m going to have to think about the 30-days straight going to the gym. My old trainer did that and he got ripped!

Time for sleep!

Thanks, yeah I do find it harder to go for 7-days straight rather then the usual off and on during the week. What I usually do is go every other day.. and some days I go more. It’s nice having a trainer or workout partner to help push you sometimes.

Good for you! One more day! I’m doing 6 days a week, mixed weights and cardio as you know. If it wasn’t something I did every day, I would be in danger of never doing it. That’s just my weirdness. It has to be a big reason for my weight loss progress tho. Good 2 pros you pointed out. Still having a hell of a time making my little muscles any bigger. Not sure they know how to grow. Maybe after a couple years of this I’ll look down and be suddenly huge. One can dream. ;)

One thing about me is I gain muscle very fast and usually hold on to it. Since working out with my workout buddy, and drinking Isopure, I have gained a lot of muscle! Since on the diet, it has slowed a little, but it seems the more I work at it, the more I grow which is awesome!

Go, Jay!!! That’s awesome. I only do about 4 days a week (I workout at home, not at a gym) – with cardio on all 4 days, and cardio+strength 2-3 days, and this week I ended up missing a day of cardio. Keep it up (maybe not at 7 days a week!) – inspiring to see someone upping their exercise. Maybe it will rub off on me!

Thanks, it was hard but I did see the benefits.

I’m thinking about the 30-days in the gym.. that will be challenge for sure. We’ll see what happens. I know if I did it I would be totally ripped. :p
