15 Pounds of Fat Loss and 4 Pounds of Muscle Gain in 5 Weeks!!

Posted on 18. Mar, 2010 by in Gym, Weight Loss

I’m pretty excited today.

Before my workout my trainer decided to weigh me and check my body fat. And as it turned out as the title of this post reads I lost 15 pounds of body fat and GAINED 4 pounds of muscle in 5 weeks!

I’m surprised to say the least… it just goes to show that my calorie level isn’t that low and that it’s doing it’s job, making me fit!

If you’re interested in how I’m doing things be sure to read my weight loss challenge here.

Basically what I’m doing is exercising 4-5 times a week and eating good for me foods at a calorie count of around 1200-1400 calories a day.

So even when I’m not losing weight like I want to… I’m probably gaining muscle and losing body fat. :)

Very happy!

I’m jealous of your muscle gain. I read somewhere that it takes girls one year to gain 5 pounds of muscle (don’t know how true that is) but man. 4 pounds of muscle in 5 weeks, that’s awesome.

Really? Wow… not enough protein in your diet or something? :)

      I think it’s a testosterone thing. :(

Actually even men can only gain about 10 lbs of true lean muscle in a year consistently without artificial aids such as hormone therapy or steroid use.

How did they measure your 4 lbs gain? I think it’s close to impossible to gain that amount of muscle in a regular bulking phase let alone on a 1,200-1,400 calorie diet.

I don’t mean to rain on your parade, you’re still down 11 lbs overall which is a great progress by any standard!

They used a machine that look like a bulky scale, but I had to take off my socks for it to work.

So I was bare feet on it.. and that’s how they measured my weight, muscle and fat levels.

We did this before I started working out, and at the time I wrote this post.
